Refuses to work on Arch

Sorry, I don't know how to troubleshoot this, but so far I've tried both the AUR package and manually moving the files to /usr/share/icons.

What happens is that both the regular and dawn cursors show up correctly in lxappearance, but when I click 'apply' on them, it has no effect at all.

If I apply one of my old cursor themes, ~/.icons/default/index.theme changes to reflect the theme name, but I'm not seeing anything happen with these cursors :(

I also tried editing the cursor.theme and index.theme files to remove the accented 'e' everywhere in hopes of fixing it, but it didn't help.

Any help would be very appreciated 🙏

I was also having problems on POP!_OS (Gnome DE).

The cursors would show up in Gnome Tweaks but would not apply. The problem for me was having the icons in ~/.local/share.

After moving them to ~/.icons and then selecting them again in Gnome Tweaks they worked for me.

depends whether you use the XDG_* vars I guess. For me local share works.
