Create ca65 project?

Is there a way to create an assembly project that uses the ca65 assembler (included with cc65)? I see other assemblers are supported, but it seems like for cc65 only C is an option.

ca65-only projects have not been in focus so far, as acme and kickass seem to have a very broad user basis and cover much of everyone's needs. Thus - and because available spare time is the bottleneck, it's not on the road map right now. Roland.
