@mpadge could you please add yourself to DESCRIPTION as I was told you are the new maintainer?

Package will be archived very soon anyway, so i might just change the title here to "Archive package?" to ensure that happens as soon as deposits includes dryad. If you :+1: or :heavy_check_mark: or whatever, then i'll do that. Thanks

Hello,

I'm adding functions to a pkg that download dataset for Forest Inventory, named {laselva}. This package was originally created by Scott.

I have multiple datasets on dryad and was hopping to use this pkg as a dependency (see this issue). What is the current status of archiving for this pkg, and what will it future be ?

Can I include a dryad_dowload() similar function to my pkg or should I wait for the {deposits} pkg to replace {rdryad} ?

Best regards, Maxime

Hi @gowachin. Status of archiving is "not quite yet", but no future development will happen here, as {deposits} will definitely be the replacement. Current timetable should see dryad added in March 2023 at the latest, after which time this package will then be properly archived. Is that acceptable for you, or do you need that functionality sooner? If so, we could maybe expedite initial dryad functionality which would allow for downloading fairly quickly.

This is totally acceptable, I think I can use {rdryad} for now as it works and note in my issue to migrate to {deposits} in March. Thanks !
