Data files integration in R script

• I would like to use-integrate the data, that i have uploaded on my OSF project in my R code, without downloading them locally on my laptop. From what I have read in the osfr documentation this is not possible. Is that correct?
• Also I wonder if this is possible when the data is stored in an external ("add-on") location e.g. owncloud, onedrive?
• If yes could you please provide any assistance on this?
