after chatting with @EvilScott - we may want to change our logging strategy - I'll have a chat with their devops person at some point to hash this out

good approach: ask yourself what are the things you need logged and why. the geolocation was neat, but are you using it? default nginx server logging should log any errors and requests by default.

Right. We may not need geolocation.
