Has RSelenium been abandoned?
No commits for two years. Still using wdman, which also appears abandoned.
What are the alternatives?
RSelenium Stop Working, asking for Payment #295
Description ham1hv9 opened 1 minute ago RSelenium Stop Working 2 days ago. To run the package, you now have to make a payment to use it. but there is no way to pay for the service and instructions on how to use it afterwords. It looks like RSelenium is officially dead! Does anyone know how to get around this issue?
selenium(retcommand = T) checking Selenium Server versions: BEGIN: PREDOWNLOAD BEGIN: DOWNLOAD BEGIN: POSTDOWNLOAD checking chromedriver versions: BEGIN: PREDOWNLOAD BEGIN: DOWNLOAD BEGIN: POSTDOWNLOAD checking geckodriver versions: BEGIN: PREDOWNLOAD BEGIN: DOWNLOAD BEGIN: POSTDOWNLOAD checking phantomjs versions: BEGIN: PREDOWNLOAD Error in open.connection(con, "rb") : cannot open the connection to 'https://api.bitbucket.org/2.0/repositories/ariya/phantomjs/downloads?pagelen=100' In addition: Warning message: In open.connection(con, "rb") : cannot open URL 'https://api.bitbucket.org/2.0/repositories/ariya/phantomjs/downloads?pagelen=100': HTTP status was '402 Payment Required'
That message is coming from the web site from which wdman or binman was trying to download "phantomjs", not from RSelenium itself. I have been using it with "chromedriver". There are issues with wdman there, but no request for payment.
Thanks for the respond. Could you please share the code you are using to successfully launce the rsDriver() function. Thanks Herb
