Python Version of Analysis + Data Generation Script

Hello!

I have almost completed translating this into Python. The analysis is obviously wrong because I'm using random data, but I wanted to make sure the code look "right" before I start messing around with that.

Also, if the issue I filed gets filled then this problem goes away.
