numberOfEmails not working

It appears the module is not respecting the numberOfEmails value. While it will respect the value when loading the module, it no longer respects it after new messages start coming in. No matter what I set it to, it will attempt to display an unlimited number of new emails after the module loads until it runs out or real estate. This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't overrunning other modules.
