Issue when using with RESideMenu

For some reason when i'm using this with RESideMenu with one of the menu view controllers being linked to the main content controller as a push segue along with two other push segues and one root controller it keeps allowing for vertical scrolling and moving the pages diagonally.

I think it might be something to do with it not actually being embedded in the content navigation controller and thinking there is no navigation bar or something - but I cannot seem to fix it.
