VLC not launching on MacOS

VLC won't launch even if I give it the path (it just waits forever and does nothing) and having it open while I run the command doesnt get sound working either. Any help is appreciated thanks Screenshot 2021-12-05 at 16 21 20 Screenshot 2021-12-05 at 16 20 05

You must not pass the VLC path as a sndcpy argument, but as an environment variable VLC.

VLC=/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS ./sndcpy

Also, please do not post screenshots of text, just post the text in a code block.

Alright thanks for the help. Sorry about the screenshots, this is my first issue I've needed to post and I'll do better in future.
