POM file editor (XML handler) CTabItems invisible

I am editing a POM.xml file for my Java project and the CTabItems are not rendered properly. They were invisible the first time and jumping around the editor window did bring them back but went away as soon as I used them to change the tab.

Same for line numbers, disabling and then re-enabling line nos brought them back.
