Applying wallpaper Issue (activate and instantly deactivate and activate again *cycles*)

Describe the bug A clear and concise description of what the bug is. when applying any wallpaper it will apply it but it deactivate instantly then active again then it cycles again.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'Library'
  2. Click on 'any wallpaper'
  3. See error

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

Log file (Important) Share the diagnostic files by: Open Lively settings (Gear icon) top-right -> System -> Log File -> Save or Navigate to Appdata folder C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Lively Wallpaper\logs lively_log_20250609_193430.zip

Same here, have the same issue with N0va Desktop too. Seems the last Windows update broke wallpapers apps.

Looks like the Lively.Wallpaper WorkerW keeps being destroyed when I look in the log files, but I have no idea how to fix that.

Simply restart Explorer.exe via Task Manager and it will work. If it doesn't work for you, then try reinstalling the app from the Microsoft Store and starting with admin rights.

Yeah I also have this problem. I tried to reinstall and restart Lively Wallpaper in different ways but no changes. The only fix suggested above, restarting explorer.exe, is just temporary and the problem reappears after rebooting the PC (or if you change wallpaper to one that doesn't work/is broken and then back to a working one).

I figured out the cause, its because of the changes in Windows in the recent update and the way I refresh force refresh desktop.

Next update will have the patch.

i will try and test

edit: it works! it wont do the looping anymore, also restarting pc works perfectly fine no issues. applying 3rd party live wallpapers works perfectly fine. no more looping. it works more smoothly now, THANK YOU!
