I agree. On some styles, e.g. Adwaita, the buttons are laid out horizontally, which makes them much more useful. The other solution would be to make the rows significantly higher, which would reduce the number of features shown without scrolling. So subclassing or otherwise tailoring the QSpinBox class is on the todo list, but it's low priority.
