Paid support?

we've been using your RStudio images as the base images for ours for a while. We were wondering if there are any paid support options available for these images specifically? (rather than just plain old rstudio-server)

Hi Dan, thanks for writing and the kind words. I really do appreciate the sentiment and don't mean to speak for our whole maintainer team (Dirk, myself and Noam), but I don't think there's any simple mechanism for this. We all have full time positions but use rocker for our own needs, which in it's own way is good for the long-term sustainability of the project as it does not depend on outside grants or contracts.

This really is a community-driven project though with a substantial number of contributions coming in from other regular users, (some of whom are larger funded projects that may have the capacity to support development time towards rocker, but obviously I can't speak for them!)

We did receive a small grant from CZI last year which supported some overdue maintenance like the recent overhaul of the codebase in this repo (migrating to ubuntu base, the modular build scripts, the CUDA images etc), but now we're back into volunteer maintenance / contributor-driven development mode. We definitely welcome issues / discussion of whatever needs you're looking to meet through paid support, perhaps there will be a community-based solution or perhaps fodder for a future grant-based request to address such needs down the road?
