User should have a significantly improved dashboard
As it stands the dashboard is almost entirely useless. I'm thinking of repurposing it into being a way of finding out what's been going on; kinda like an extended notifications panel. So it should:
- Still show you some stats, but condensed from the current format
- Show a list of events/notifications that have happened
- Favourites
- Recommendations
- Followings
- Comments
You could run a quick survey to find out what people's needs actually are, so you have more data to decide what should go on the dashboard. Not the kind of: 'what do you want to see on the dashboard', but more like 'choose from these activities what you do more often', 'rate how critical is to do XYZ fast', etc.
That's a good idea; I'll see if I can whip up a quick survey tomorrow and ask people via Twitter etc :)
The account dashboard now shows a list of all notifications. Moving this on to the next milestone for further improvements.
That's a great improvement!
But I still find the dashboard quite cluttered. Loads of text that doesn't help scanning the information. Maybe you should study how to transform the information into something more visual like:
That doesn't mean turning it into a Christmas tree, with loads of images and icons and the like. But having a clear hierarchy of what's more important on that page, reducing clutter and presenting the information in a way that is easy to scan.
I agree! I was thinking of reducing the number of stats and instead representing them more visually like with the upload limits. I must admit they were originally only there so there was something on the dashboard :D

That makes sense, you start with something and then rinse and repeat until it works :)
