Forza games don't work well with the Linux Nvidia drivers unfortunately. Not sure if this is a vkd3d-proton or Nvidia driver issue though.
Did you add `PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1`? It helps on Nvidia GPUs in Battlefield games

I tested this by added the compressed img archive and it does not show up in the boot menu. Unpacking the iso from the archive results in a 10GB file...

Even if using the Vulkan renderer fixes it, I think we could still work on fixing this issue since it could also have the domino effect of fixing other DX12...
As a follow up, have you tried using VKD3D-Proton 2.9?
