Correct location of settings

I'm just starting with HA and for me it is not quit clear where to add all the different settings. Could you please explain exactly which text should be in configuration / sensors and or groups? I only hae one dimmer switch to add, lamps are coming in via the default Hue add-on. Thanks in advance
