A few minor fixes, and add man pages

I 'borrowed' the man pages from Debian (permission is given for use in other places at the bottom of each one).

There was a typo in an IFDEF that meant XPM support was never shown in dzen2 -v

The makefile changes are to be more adaptable to people's environments (cflags, cc, lib dir, etc)
