E-Mail Edge-Cases

A friend of mine (@andygrunwald) sent me a link to a funny talk titled Email vs Capitalism, or, Why We Can't Have Nice Things - Dylan Beattie - NDC Oslo 2023 where they mention a few tricky e-mail addresses, of which two are not detected by linkify yet.

They are

  • "Bruce 'The Hulk' Banner"@avengers.com
  • vision@[IPv6::2001::db8::1ff::a0b::dbd0]

I was wondering if these could technically be supported and if it is desirable to support them.
