Doing this in a secure way would require setting up a separate server that can host the API keys to GitHub etc.

I guess it wouldn't be to difficult to accomplish and using Heroku I could get started for free. The bigger issue is management; is it worth it?

Perhaps I should even consider multiple sources (like Dropbox perhaps) and maybe even a simple way for contributors to list resources in a searchable database.
