Incorrect input field behavior on Google Material Design account password change form

1. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/u/1/security/signinoptions/password to start the password change flow for an existing Google account and follow it to the step where it asks for the new password.
2. Create or update an item in Passcards , press the autofill button to populate the input fields

Expected:

Password input fields updated, the field label animates to a position above the autofilled passwords and password strength indicator shows 'strong'

Actual:

Password input fields changed but field label does not move and the password strength indicator does not update.
