Remove attachment placeholders (<"FILENAME">)

Hello,

I'm on Catalina and, after recently discovering that ${message.subject} in reply/forward e-mails no longer outputs the actual subject, I have now realised that the option "remove attachment placeholders" no longer works. Even when the option is checked, they appear.

Much as I love QuoteFix (the only thing that makes Apple Mail usable in my opinion), I reckon that it's arrived at the end of the road. However, I have yet to find any Mac e-mail client that allows setting personalised reply/forward e-mail headers (the only exception is Thunderbird, but that's only with a paid-for add-on which can't quote fix).

Many thanks to Robert Klep for the years that he's kept this plugin alive, but does anyone have any suggestions as to moving forward (plug-ins or alternate e-mail clients, for example)?
