Sorry for the late response but the reason is because electron reloader is used to reload the app when changes happen and from the electron-reloader project's README:

Note that it will not work correctly if you transpile the main process JS files of your app, but it doesn't make sense to do that anyway.

If you still believe this would be useful I can see if other's feel the same and add it but some functionality will be lost doing so.
