Enhancement to load user code before Jupyter kernel

I am presenting this as a comparison rather than a PR. If any part of this looks useful, I'd be happy to prepare an appropriate PR.

Although there are various ways to load quicklisp, I wanted to load just before the main Jupyter kernel code is loaded.
