I signed up and then git clone but not sure why meteor update takes forever? I see that it is Meteor 1.0 and now we are 1.4.4.1 so can I still learn from this tutorial thanks

I don't know why Meteor is taking forever for you; you might want ask the Meteor team. For the most part I think this tutorial is still relevant but I haven't checked recently.
