"healthy" is a strong word. Truthfully this PR is the first one that actually does something for 3rd parties. I can add documentation, but what are our thoughts regarding it?...

Just the same name. In eclipse, you can open a file by Ctrl + Shift + R. It just leads to easier confusion if 2 files have the same name....

@romani I am pretty sure it was intentional as I was the one who did all the file renaming in the beginning. https://github.com/checkstyle/checkstyle/issues/2161/ and https://github.com/checkstyle/checkstyle/issues/2540. I couldn't find any specifics...
