Warning triangle in system tray does not go away after server restart
After choosing a different Preset, a warning notification is displayed that restarting the JACK audio server is necessary, and the QjackCtl system tray icon changes into a yellow exclamation mark.
After stopping/starting the server, the system tray does not revert back to its normal state.
Xubuntu 18.04 LTS, QjackCtl 0.6.2.
maybe a specific Xfce system tray issue?
The behaviour is indeed different with two tray plugins:
- with 'Notification Area', the QjackCtl icon does never show the warning triangle on preset change,
- with 'Status Notifier Plugin', the observed behaviour occurs.
I do not know if any of those are due to some bug in either of the two plugins or Qjackctl.
I find online the information that 'Notification Area' uses the XEMBED protocol, and 'Status Notifier Plugin' some specification of freedesktop.org (allegedly more modern/compatible).
I do need both plugins, and QjackCtl shows up in the latter. Maybe there is something that can be done in Qjackctl/Qt to make it fully compatible with both in terms of this triangle icon.
