Condition failed: menu Error in Status

I'm getting a lot of those errors in the status / Messages window, I can't switch the soundcard any more:

i haven't the slightest clue what that message is coming...

seriously, what botched system are you running there? :)--it is not the first time you come with some very very weird things that only happen on you :(

better try remember what you changed in the system right before it started spitting out those messages... maybe one bad package update?

Sorry, the system is kubuntu 19.10 upgraded from a fresh 19.04 install but with a /home partition (and thus likely all the settings) from long ago.

Actually i started noticing the issue when i backed up my QjackCtl settings to help finding the origin of the other issue...

oops: Same message appears on another kubuntu 19.10 machine with fresh home partition.
