Not able to select an Interface

Open kezzy1966 opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

We have been experiencing a problem where you cannot select an interface from within qjackctl settings. It just gives the default. You can type in the name if you know what it exactly is.

We are using qjackctl on a Linux Cinnamon Ubuntu desktop. This issue has occurred occasionally with qjackctl 0.5.0 but on 0.6.3 it happens more frequently.

Is this a a known problem ? Could it be clashing with other apps we have installed ?

I should add that we are on Linux (cinnamon ubuntu Remix). There was some mention elsewhere that this might have something to do with ALSA not see the interface. Is there any truth in this ?

how did you got your qjackctl binary?

if compiling from source, please make sure you end up with a sane qjackctl build; most importantly, with libasound2-dev installed so that ALSA MIDI Sequencer support gets turned on at configure time.

I'm working with Kezzy1966, I originally installed qjackctl 0.5.0, compiling from source as per the readme instructions contained within the download file from https://qjackctl.sourceforge.io/qjackctl-downloads.html. I followed the same instructions when trying to upgrade from 0.5..0 to 0.6.3. and we encountered the problem of not being able to select the interface within Qjackctl and stuck with a selection of "default". Qjackctl still works as long as the "default" interface is is the one you wish to use. Any suggestions welcome.
