ProcessRepeats step of RepeatMasker is so slow

I run RepeatMasker to analysis some short sequence. RepeatMasking is finshed soon (~2 minutes) but processRepeats take 20 minutes. I wonder if any parameter can sove this problem.

Could you give me a little more background on how you are using RepeatMasker? ie. repeatmasker version, search engine, library version ( Dfam/Repbase ), and finally the command line used. It's hard to say why ProcessRepeats is taking so long without further context.
