Would be good to mention in the readme.

I think this code should work with any 3.x GPML version (2010 onwards). I don't know of any change to the 3.x series of GPML that would break any of the code here.

Note that some of this code has in fact been incorporated in the most-recent versions of GPML.

This code does not work with the recently GPML 4.0, which changed the API somewhat. Refactoring for 4.x will take a while.
