would like to adjust/minimize grid height space between rows.

hi, I am trying to make a grid of buttons and I can't figure out how to minimize the spacing between rows. The gap between rows appears to be the same as the height of the element in the row. I would like to minimize the gap between rows to make the overall grid compact. I can't find the css value that adjusts this after hours of tweaking values, so I am assuming it is a feature/constant of the grid code. True/False?
