This cannot be done unless you impose constraints dynamically (you need to know what was generated)

Awesome, and good idea to refactor this! Would you mind adding a couple of tests?
No one is. I would integrate `outlines-core` directly instead of going through outlines.
Tests were failing for unrelated reasons, I just rebased on `main`
The problem should be solved in v1
We're currently working on it, sorry for the inconvenience. We've been focused on features and correctness until now :)
A PR was recently opened to use the latest version of `outlines-core` which should improve the performance substantially.
