ACTIVE option

Open HILOK opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

hi, i noticed that L/R runway identifiers are read as 'L' and 'R', as opposed to "left" and "right". am i doing sth wrong?

while here may i suggest adding an option to specify, whether "active" refers to departure or landing? e.g. "departure runway 03 right", "landing runway 21 right". this would be great for nellis afb and probably other air bases as well.

thanks

Changing the them to get read as "left" and "right" as opposed to "L"/"R" sounds good to me, though I'll probably try to find some real-life examples first (or get SME input) to confirm that is usually read as "left"/"right".

You might already be able to achieve this via:

ATIS Nellis 251, ACTIVE departure 03 right and arrival 21 right

The current way of passing options to a station has its limitations though. E.g. you cannot add text with a comma , to the value after ACTIVE.

>ATIS Nellis 251, ACTIVE departure 03 right and arrival 21 right thanks, didnt know that. -maybe you could add this to the examples on the main page?

thanks for considering! while you're at it, there also exists a "center" suffix for airports with 3 runways in the same orientation, but we dont have this (yet) in DCS as far as i know. btw at airports having 4 runways in the same orientation the problem is usually solved by shifting the denominator by 10degrees, e.g. 24L, 24R, 25L, 25R.
