I am getting an error message that says : Woops, did you select a non-shape? Select only shapes and try again.

Even though i am just selecting a circle.

Observing same issue. Tried to install via Runner as well as manually. Neither of them is working.. Sketch 52.5 and DiverseUI 1.1

The only solution i found is using plugin TinyFaces that have similar functions.

I started looking into this and looks like the entire Sketch Plugin ecosystem has been revamped for better or for worse. I'm going to have to rewrite this plugin à la https://github.com/maximedegreve/TinyFaces-Sketch-Plugin/pull/24.

This is going to take some time. In the meanwhile, feel free to use our website at diverseui.com or the TinyFaces plugin.

I have the same issue! Select shape, Click on fill, image data, then choose faces and it will generate random users for you. easiest solution I found.
