CRC error when trying any php

Open Heldenmar opened this issue 1 year ago • 8 comments

i have a nodemcu v3 and installed esplink. 20241006_163752 20241006_164115

when i connect the esp to the calenta 40c the esp turns on and i can reach the webpage of esp-link. but in the Microcontroller Console i dont see anything, i have set the baud rate to 4800 and fmt 8N1. when i try the hex code for the identification i dont get a response. i also installed the repo to my raspberry pi and tried to run the php but i get the next error code: />PHP version: 7.1.33-64+ubuntu24.04.1+deb.sury.org+1
Connected to 10.0.0.37:80

From memory, I used Baud Rate of 9600. Did you try this? I'm not longer using the ESP-Link solution, but have installed ESP Home version to integrate with Home Assistant so unable to check. Also worth checking that the TX & RX are not swapped maybe (although from what I can make out from photos look correct)

Do you have the link for the esphome version? Thank you

Do you have the link for the esphome version? Thank you

I've got a branch here in my repos with a few changes I needed to make

thank you, the esphome part is up and connected to homeassistant but i still get a crc error. does the boiler has to be in a specific setting?

Heldenmar avatar Oct 14 '24 12:10 Heldenmar

I did not make any changes to my boiler for this to work. I have noticed that with ESPHome version, there are some odd readings, but mostly reads correctly. Enabling the Web Server on ESP Home:

web_server:
  port: 80

Allows me to check and everything is normal. There are different readings taken, so some info should be populated as 2 different CRC checks from memory. If none, may be something else.

I have very short cable between the Boiler and ESP (btw have also used an ESP32 for this) so not sure if this has impact. Also, there is potential for a problem with the 5V signal and the expected 3V on the ESP (although many will say this should not be an issue).

sorry for the late response, This is what the consoles says on the web page:
