Question about LogCumsumExp

Hi Rolf,

I'm reading your code about ListMLE loss and found that in LogCumsumExp the max is subtracted and added back later, https://github.com/rjagerman/shoelace/blob/39085b9e1e544f4cca40ae7b6e158015b45bc6d1/shoelace/functions/logcumsumexp.py#L19, what is the reason for doing that?
