That's so sad that you have to follow the windows dark setting, which will set all apps to dark.
Is there an independent model being considered in the future?
NP3 is a good old Win32 GUI App. Windows does not support Dark Mode for these applications officially. So it is brought to these applications using an undocumented "hacky" way. One asset of this way is based on the theme of Windows (File-)Explorer. This is the reason for the need of switching the "default app mode" to "Dark" to enable this feature for NP3 - this will not change in future.
