issues on sidebar

Open xxchan opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

  1. right sidebar is lost (perhaps won't look good in the new design)

  2. Top level of left sidebar cannot be folded, so it becomes crowded, especially "Deploy & operate" section. image

  3. The old left sidebar has much more content in one screen than the new one. Perhaps we need to change font size, or re-organize.

In addition to this, it was previously possible to let some paths expand by default as a way to guide the user

I am not sure what is the "right sidebar" meaning here 🤔 I can see this in my browser image

I think it's because I'm using ~~mini Arc~~ (Arc with left sidebar)

@xxchan thanks for the feedback!

For #2, I refactored topic under "Deploy and Operate." They are not just a bunch of topics any more. :) Please take a look.

For #3, the old sidebar indeed is condensed and therefore displays more items than the current one. I moved some of the sections to be tabs. Now the sidebar looks reasonable. We can experiment with different font size / weight and spacing to find better layout plans.

LGTM!

@st1page I'm not sure what path do you refer to specifically?

Is this issue still valid? It seems we all get used to the new doc site and it's all good. I'm closing this issue, please reopen if there's any further insights.
