Rhys is still actively maintaining Simitone, however right now he is working on FreeSO for the foreseeable future. When he can, and has time, he may release a new version in the future, it could be a few years, a month, who knows.
To speed up development, anyone can contribute code or changes to Simitone via pull requests. It is an open project after all. If there have been enough significant successful changes and commits to the repo to warrant a new version, then Rhys will likely publish a new release.
