System Keyboard Layout

My system keyboard layout is QWERTZ but I would like to use the rime schemas with QWERTY keyboard layout. Is there a way to force Weasel/Squirrel to use the US/QWERTY layout as a default?

I remember there was a setting to do this but wasn't able to find it.
