Save file cannot be imported, is overwritten with blank save when manually added
Importing a gba save file is ignored, pasting save file into correct location with name corresponding to rom in the delta games folder is immediately overwritten with a blank save when the game is loaded
@916253 There's a current bug where an in-game save (.sav) gets overridden if you initiate a save state? Are you running into that, and does this importing say file issue happen on multiple games or just a single one?
Hi, I'm having the same issue, I tried to import a save file from mgba folowing a tutorial I saw on reddit (using mgba to convert a savestate to .sav 128kb) that wasn't working both by importing in the app and also by putting it in the correct directory and file name, until it magically worked when the .gba file was deleted and i had to import the game again.
managed to export the .sav file in the app to check on mgba and it worked
after that I played the game a bit, with everything working, both saves and states until yesterday when I booted the game and it was as if it was a fresh game. fortunatelly I had the save state but even then, the state does not overwrite the .sav file. I even tried to delete the .sav file, booted the save state and exported the new .sav and it's still the 0% progress save.
The game in particular is Astro Boy: Omega Factor for the GBA which doe not have a regular saving mechanism, like pokemon does. It saves automatically when I reach a new stage in game.
In the meantime i've been using the save states to continue the game but it worries me that i cannot have a .sav file to backup
I hope my explanation was not too confusing
