Altstore optional field to set ip address of the alt server
I have a scenario where i would like to refresh my apps outside of the my home connecting to router’s vpn which will connect to my home network but in a different subnet. If we can have altstore app to provide additional field to set ip address of the mac/pc. that would great 👍🏼.
Same here... please add also a static port option on the server side and any form of secure auth so we dont even need vpn to access our altserver from the internet

I have a theory that I would like someone to test because I can't PortForward (permission to do so) but. In theory vpn can do bonjour and if you use a program on the pc like called SoftEther (Software Ethernet) wich transmits Ethernet's link data layer (layer 2) networking via l2tp/IPSec or their own way from pc to pc.
By looking at some documentation for SoftEther it allows multicast wich bonjour(mDNS) uses. In theory this would allow wireless signing long as the vpn is in same subnet as the device with iTunes.
Also a similar program called zero tier does something similar and it works there.Bonjour is generally not easy to route but has been in some way in cooperate networks across vlans.

There would likely have to have a connection to update the apps certifications I would think because it's meant to be via local WiFi/USB. If I'm wrong please correct me.
Ye i think you are right :-( iTunes sync wont work if you’re not connected locally... does it work via vpn for you anyways?

I wasn't able to try but I had a friend try but wasn't able to refresh but I felt it was. Setup error and also prob different subnets. I can't test it because I can't portforward.
EDIT: correction they couldn't connect at all because of a secure nat bug in past.

There is a way where router vpn will assign ip from the dhcp itself, if you make you openvpn server in TAP Mode instead of TUN mode. But here is the catch iphones don't support TAP mode.

hi there! sorry for the lack of response - are you still experiencing issues?
I think this is to make it faster to access altserver if the servers ip is static.
