Can not install on a changed Apple ID

I changed my Apple ID but when I sign in, it shows my old Apple ID, also can not install apps.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Change Apple ID at this link in Account > Apple ID > Edit
  2. Install AltStore (Alpha) [or some sort]
  3. Sign in
  4. See Apple ID which is the old one.
  5. Install AltDaemon
  6. Install Apps
  7. See error: This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons. Visit iForgot to reset your account (https://iforgot.apple.com). (-20209) [but my Apple ID is not locked]

Expected behavior

AltStore should use my new Apple ID and install apps.

Please address this! Had to create an extra Apple-ID to use AltStore. I think the majority of users won't find out the reason for their signing to fail (having changed their Apple-ID at some point) and will just give up.

It's not uncommon that the E-Mail associated with an Apple-ID is changed so I think this bug is super critical. Most of the people just won't find out what causes their problem, thats why this issue didn't get attention yet.

Also, I think this issue might be related.

Wow, this has been half a year. Forgot about this, finally someone noticed.

I changed my Apple ID e-mail (login) and it's still showing my old one in settings. Even though I sign in normally with my NEW appleid from the computer to install AltStore onto my phone, it shows the old one and then fails when it tries to sign. Has anyone found the file where it stores the AppleID credentials? I'm at least looking to edit it locally if it's not going to be fixed...

Somehow I had this issue since last week but finally fixed it now. I don't know if this is related, but I updated my old email on the payment/billing information to the new email since Apple didn't update that information. I erased the altstore, then tried logging again, and voilà!

I will try doing that

Can you please tell us what actual page or screen that's on? I checked Settings -> Apple ID and Settings -> Apple ID -> Payment & Shipping and it's showing me the updated AppleID e-mail.

I just tried to re-install AltStore (latest version 1.4.4.0) and log into account. I login just fine using new credentials, but once logged in it shows my old e-mail... Is AltStore storing this e-mail locally somewhere from an older version maybe?

It's on the Apple Shop side. For me, I logged in: https://www.apple.com/shop/bag

Then, scroll down to Account Settings and update the email https://secure2.store.apple.com/shop/

Thank you! Unfortunately, my e-mail is already the updated on there. What an annoying bug. :/

Hello everyone, I had the same issue, and i notice that in settings > account > Type I have a Free Developper Account. So I went to https://developer.apple.com/ > log with my new email id login and now the email adress is good in Altstore! Hope it helps

My goodness, thank you! Signing into my account again at the above link made it work. Probably because I had to accept the terms and agreement again. Now Altstore shows the proper ID again. I had to log out and log back in, and saw my e-mail be updated.

So I got my iphone back, and I do not know how it is solved. I did not follow anything, but it is working for me now.

The current working solution is logging into https://developer.apple.com/account and accepting the new terms of service. Sign out of AltStore, sign back in and it's fixed! This should be the accepted answer for now. Perhaps the developers are working on this programmatically for now and want to keep it open but I think the issue can be closed.
