AltServer not appearing in Menu Bar

Open Theninjarush opened this issue 1 year ago • 15 comments

I installed Altstore from the website, unzipped it, put it in the applications folder, ran the application, but the icon isn't appearing in my menu bar. Why is that? I am running it on a pretty new M2 Macbook Air running MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1. Because of this, I straight up can't use Altserver nor install Altstore on my Iphone

I worked around this by manually closing the apps that are showing in the Menu Bar. Apparently MacOS has a limit, and shows the applications it deems important first. So once they're all closed, AltStore becomes the only one and is then shown.

Same issue here. Is it an idea to add a means of opening up the AltServer menu that doesn't depend on the MacOS menu bar?

This is the solution! Thank you!

I have the same issue on Macbook Air M1 running Sonoma 14.6.1. It is not about a limit of space in the menu bar. Other apps are added without any issue.

Are you sure @tbendr? For me it was also resolved by closing apps taking up menu bar space.

Is it an idea to expand the AltServer menu or show something if a user opens the app whilst it is already running?

@liamwh Yes, I am sure. I can provide a screen recording if needed.

Are you running Sonoma on an Apple M chip?

In case someone is still confused as I did one minute ago, look up and check the menu bar on your second screen.

@Noir97 I wish that was my issue, but I can't find AltServer in any menu bar. I can see that there is an AltServer process running on my computer but that's it.

If your mac has Dozer, turn it off.

I also have this issue on a fresh install. Removed all of my menu bar items and it still doesn't show up. M1 Pro - Tahoe 26.1
