json2xls not handling special characters

Hi , I am having a valid json text containing data like “Sr. No.”:1. I am using json2xls for converting it to excel. The excel generated from that json is not having data in columns whose headers have special character. Eg- The column “Sr. No”. is blank. Please let me know how can I resolve this issue. I am having the same issue, if the "." is removed from the header, then it works fine.
