Can my ricochet tell me my average RTT through Tor?

Currently outgoing Ricochet messages are white, then they turn grey when they've been acknowledged by the other side. It seems to me that it's pretty fast. Yet many people complain that Tor is slow.

It would be neat to have a few stats that RIcochet keeps about its observations about the Tor network, to tell me for example what the average RTT across all my messages has been lately. Is it 400ms? 700ms? What's the variance?

This wishlist item is maybe better suited to some sort of independent metrics style program, but that would also make it less real for the user -- as opposed to "this is your speed using Tor lately".

I think I wouldn't want to do it per user, because that gets uncomfortably into the range of "gosh, Bob sure has a fast network connection" -- even though all of these stats can be collected by the client as it is, that doesn't mean we should collect them or highlight this angle for people. I also wouldn't want any of the numbers to hit the disk I think?
