Initialize Project is now inactive when no workspace is open

Why is it so? I assume I have to create Podfile manually and call pod install to generate .xcworkspace and from that moment I can use KFCocoaPodsPlugin... So what is the purpose of this if it cannot generate .xcworkspace for me? Or maybe I'm missing something? If yes, please correct me...
