UC Browser opens media player in fullscreen

On Android UC Browser if you enable noSleep AND webkitRequestFullScreen it will show you a fullscreen video player. Is there a workaround for this?

This seems like a feature that is actually a bug in UC browser:

In NoSleep.js we do not even attach the playing video to the DOM so this clearly points to UC browser doing something a bit strange in my opinion.

I'm not aware of any workarounds for this at the current time but if anyone is aware of a workaround please post that here.
