Better orientation control

This might be superseded by being able to rotate the diagram, but yesterday I found it better to draw the extended elevation in landscape and the plan in portrait, there is plenty of room on the icon bar to add this, so no need to go through the menu.

Wouldn't you just keep the device in Auto mode and just rotate it physically if this is your workflow?

Not convinced, auto rotate will not do what you want in some circumstances, often I have been surveying with the device in random positions, as it is the only place I can reach it, then the auto rotate would get very upset.

Not sure I want to use the valuable real estate on the top bar for orientation. Also technical issues. Would separate controls in settings for overriding orientation on plan / EE suffice?

I can see the real estate issue. That said, the plan should really have a north arrow, so grabbing the point and moving it, might be an option, maybe with 8 fixed points, not sure how that would work if there is clever algorithms to detect pen angle.

Yes I think that controls in settings would work, certainly do for now, the one above is far further down the development list.
